This process only applies to those individuals who are applying for their Firearms ID Card and/or permits to purchase. Proof of residency can be established with a valid government issued identification showing your New Jersey residence in Franklin Township or a government issued tax record or government issued utility bill (i.e. Proof of residency within Franklin Township must be provided in order to receive your Identification Card and/or permit. ID cards are $50.00 and Permits are $25.00. Step 4 : You will need to submit payment at the police department for your Identification Card and/or permits. If you have resided outside of NJ within the past ten (10) years you must respond to the police records window and sign a consent for Mental Health Records Form.Please ensure that you have entered the best phone numbers/email addresses for yourself and your references. You will be receiving automated email updates throughout this new process.The FARS system will email them the reference questions to be answered. When completing the application you will need the correct email addresses of two (2) reputable references. If you are a first time applicant, you must have access to a printer in order to print the Identigo Fingerprint Form. Avoid using smartphones or tablets as the system will not properly transmit your information.
